Winter is here and we are not riding as much. This means our battery is being taxed
to its limits. One of my recommendations to winterize is using a battery tender. Motorcycle batteries
do not like setting without being charged. The best way to winterize is to ride, but with snow and ice it isn't always practical.
So use a battery tender, after a battery has gone down a couple of times it will be time to replace it. The Goldwing
battery varies in price from $85 to $125.00 in price depending on quality. A tender costs $33.95 at our shop, and if you show
your GWRRA card you will get a 10% discount on a tender or battery. This price is good through Feburary. Don't get caught
in the wrong place with a dead battery. Start your bike at least once a week and let it run until it has completely
warmed up. Still the best is to ride , so ride every chance you get in winter. Air pressure also goes down faster in
the cold. Check and keep the air pressure up. I suggest 40lbs in the front and 42 in the rear for best wear, and handling.
That is for 1500's and 1800's so keep that air up. Stay tuned for Tech Tips, new tips will be posted every couple of
weeks. Tim Sweeden X Chapter Director Service Manager Honda Of Stillwater
